If you are a chess fan you might be aware of the upcoming World Chess Championship between Anand and Topalov (April 21-May 2). I will be definitely posting some of the interesting games and of course the results.
April 16, 2010

Two very interesting tournaments just went by (US championship'09 and M-TEL masters'09) and more high school students should be added to my list of favorite players. GM-elect Robert Hess tied for second with GM Onischuck, loosing only one game against GM Nakamura (the champion) and earning his third GM norm. The following game against GM Christiansen shows how comfortably he plays a chess legend.

And of course, Magnus Carlsen, also tied for second at the M-TEL masters in Sofia. The following game from the first round, brilliantly defeating Bulgaria's best Veselin Topalov.

I am trying not to overload this collection with Carlsen's games, but today he played an amazing game in Biel against GM Bacrot. He didn't seem to have a big advantage (at least not to me), but he managed to find the strongest moves to finish the game in only 31 moves.

I will inaugurate this chess collection with a wonderful game from one of my favorite players, Magnus Carlsen, who defeated Vladimir Kramnik at Corus 2008.
